Hello

How It All Started

Don Serafin and his siblings were raised by a loving family heavily involved in the agricultural industry. After evaluating the nut market during the early 1980's Serafin decided to buy an almond orchard in '86. During those years the market was not doing too well but Serafin worked the land as best as he could. Within the following decade he replanted the orchard with various varieties of peaches, nectarines, cherries, and apricots. At the time the stone fruit market for packing sheds was at its highest.

Hello

Our Most Valuable Innovations

Over the course of the next few years the price paid per box by the packing shed dropped tremendously. In 1997 Hector, one of Serafin's youngest sons, came in and discovered what would be Aguilar Farms' greatest innovations. A method of appropriately, stressing the trees in order to better ripen the fruit. Thus, the process began where Serafin, his brother Francisco, and a good friend nick-named Spiderman would pick the fruit themselves while Hector hand packed up to 80 boxes per day.

Aguilar Farms continues to build great and lasting relationships with many reputable fruit stands, stores, vendors, and farmers throughout parts of Northern California.
